Coolers for glass demijohns

Glass demijohn coolers are mainly used in the food industry for cooling or heating wine musts during controlled fermentation in glass demijohns. The cooler is inserted into the demijohn through the filling opening and connected via hoses to the cold or hot water source and waste. The water inlet is connected by a ball valve to one threaded end and the water outlet to the other threaded end of the demijohn. The water flow and thus the temperature of the fermenting musts is then regulated manually by means of a ball valve. For 1 hl of fermenting cider, approx. 9 l of water is consumed per hour of fermentation. The water is warmed by 3°C, e.g. from 12° to 15°. When the cooling is controlled manually, the temperature of the must can be measured with a bimetal thermometer.
